Questions

How do I cite a DOI?

Paste the DOI, for example 10.1038/s41586-021-03819-2, click Continue, then pick your journal or style. The reference is built from the publisher's registered record, so authors, year, volume and pages match the official metadata.

Which journals are supported?

More than 10,800, from the Citation Style Language repository that Zotero and Mendeley use. Search by full name or abbreviation, like Nature Communications, JVIM, PNAS or J Virol.

My journal is not listed. What should I use?

Check the journal's author guidelines for the style it follows. Most biomedical journals use Vancouver (NLM) or AMA, and most social science journals use APA or Harvard.

Can I get BibTeX from a DOI?

Yes. Choose BibTeX to get ready-to-paste @article entries with citation keys.

Can I paste many DOIs at once?

Yes, up to 50, one per line. The bibliography comes back sorted and numbered the way the chosen style requires.

Does it work with PubMed IDs?

Yes. A PMID or a full paper title works too, but a DOI gives the most reliable match.
