# Pfizer Sells Discontinued Seagen Antibody Drug Conjugate to Medicus Pharma

Pfizer has reached a deal to transfer a discontinued antibody-drug conjugate to Medicus Pharma. The deal could be worth more than $1 billion.

The ADC originally came from Pfizer's $43 billion acquisition of Seagen. Pfizer stopped developing the drug earlier this year. Medicus Pharma will now take over the asset.

Antibody-drug conjugates are a class of targeted cancer medicines. They combine an antibody that binds to tumor cells with a toxic drug payload designed to kill those cells. The technology was a key reason Pfizer bought Seagen.

Selling a scrapped candidate allows Pfizer to recover some value from its large investment. For Medicus Pharma, the deal provides access to a previously developed asset without the early-stage work. This type of transaction is common in biotech: large companies cut programs that no longer fit their strategy, and smaller developers pick up those assets for a lower cost.

The outcome of the deal will depend on whether the ADC can succeed where Pfizer's earlier development plan fell short. Because the drug had already been selected and tested under Seagen, it may carry valuable commercial and scientific potential for its new owner.
