The Anatomy and Physiology Behind Crystals
The feline urinary tract has two kidneys, two ureters, a bladder, and a urethra. Urine is a complex solution of water, electrolytes, minerals, proteins, and waste products. When the concentration of a mineral exceeds its solubility in that solution, crystals can form. This is described by relative supersaturation (RSS), a calculated estimate of crystallization risk. Unsafe Home Remedies and What to Avoid
